Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If longer storage is needed, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Avoid refrigerating for extended periods, as the edible image may become soggy. Before serving, allow the cake to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to soften the buttercream.
